July, 18, co-organized by CCTV and CNTV (China Network Television), the Launching Ceremony for 4th Brand Release & 2012 Annual Summit for Chinese Brands was held in Beijing. Chairman Liu was invited to the ceremony and gave a keynote speech.
Chairman Liu aired his view on ’opportunity choice during Time of Change’, and said Chinese companies and products need to choose different means and methods for what and how to ’transform’ from different perspectives. The progress from quantitative to qualitative change is the fundamental issue for realizing sustainable development for the next 30 years. Tongwei has played an important role for the popularization of China’s aquatic products over the past 30 years. 2/3 of the world’s artificially-bred fish is raised by Chinese, among which 1/3 is related to Tongwei. China has the culture and population base for aquaculture. In future, China’s aquatic product industry will have an optimistic prospect with revenue in foreign exchange created.
In terms of food safety issue, Chairman Liu emphasized on the importance of safety guarantee from food source to final products. Brand building is crucial for the future development. He continued, developing the new energy industry is imperative – coal consumption needs to transform to consumption of renewable clean energy. The reason for U.S.’s anti-dumping and anti-subsidy policy against China is because of the low cost and price of Chinese products. Therefore, we need to increase our products’ added value.
